Cultural Other
Cultural Other is a pattern, named by the scholar Marimba Ani, in which a worldview defines those outside its own frame as lesser, as objects, or as problems to manage rather than as full people to be in relationship with. It is one of the ways a domination-oriented seed sustains itself. CultureROOTS names the pattern in the abstract, as something any worldview can slip into, and reads for its opposite: a culture that extends regard across difference rather than withdrawing it.

In Ani's fuller account the concept carries a specific historical argument. The public framing here uses it as an analytical pattern any worldview can fall into; the deeper, named treatment lives in the practitioner material.
