Feather of Ma'at
The Feather of Ma'at is the standard against which the heart is weighed in the Kemetic tradition — the measure of whether a life, or a culture, is lived in accord with truth and right order. In CultureROOTS it stands for the standard a workplace is weighed against: the distance between what it professes and what it protects.
In the Egyptian Book of the Dead the heart is set on a scale against the feather. The image gives the framework its central question — whether the professed and the lived are close enough to trust.
