The Four Movements

The Four Movements are the arc CultureROOTS moves through: Remember, Relate, Restore, Regenerate. They turn a reading of a culture into a direction — what to return to, what to reconnect, what to repair, and what to build.

Carried by Sankofa, the four movements are the shape of the whole journey rather than four separate steps: remember what sustains people, restore right relationship, repair what has been strained, and build so the culture renews itself rather than depletes the people inside it.

Carried by Sankofa (Akan tradition); see the Library page on Sankofa.
