Locus of agency

Locus of agency is how CultureROOTS locates where a pattern actually lives and where the power to change it sits — at the level of the self, the relationships around a person, or the wider system. It keeps a systemic problem from being mistaken for a personal failing, and a person from being asked to fix what only a system can.

The three levels are a gradient through which a person and their world shape each other, the relational truth Ubuntu names. CultureROOTS uses it most directly in MyCompass, where each next step is offered at whatever level is actually yours to reach, so responsibility sits where the power to change something really lives.
