Stewardship / the Steward

Stewardship in CultureROOTS is the stance of tending the culture around you — with power, under it, or both — seeing your part in it clearly without being asked to carry all of it alone. A steward cares for the systems, resources, and relationships a community depends on, for the long term.

Stewardship runs from the individual reading (you are a steward of the culture around you) to the organizational domain of Systems of Stewardship, whether a workplace tends its systems and repairs harm. It is care extended to the whole a person is part of.

A CultureROOTS construct rooted in Ubuntu and the Ma'at tradition; see the Library pages on Ubuntu and MySignal.
